The brand behind your go-to reusable under-eye patches — Dieux, also known for its radical transparency in the industry — wants you to stop wasting your hard-earned money, once and for all. The means to that end? Squeezing every last drop from the anti-aging serum or moisturizer you splurged on, with the help of its all-new Heavy-Duty Tube-Wringer: made in collaboration with none other than Gill Mechanical, the family-owned company that invented this handy metal tool in the first place.

“Earlier last year, videos had gone viral with creators using these machines to get every last drop of product out of their aluminum tubes. We tried to make our own but the quality was, quite frankly, embarrassing. So I did some research and realized Gill Mechanical was the original inventor of the Tube-Wringer and had been making them since the 1970s,” Charlotte Palermino, Dieux’s co-founder and chief brand officer tells WWD. “I realized, why dupe when we can honor the original? They’re all handmade in America and last a lifetime, which is exactly Dieux’s philosophy in creating quality products that last.”

Oregon-based manufacturer Gill Mechanical perfected the revolutionary object and soon-to-be household staple in the 1970s. People could put all manner of tubes between its two zinc-plated steel frames and metal rollers, clamp the wringer shut, and start turning its crank to gradually “crimp” their product of choice — with the rollers leaving in their wake distinctive, accordion-like folds, completely emptied of whatever liquid the tube was once holding.
Over the years, the O.G. Tube-Wringer has been used for everything from oil paints (you can find it at your local Blick or Michael’s) and lobster claws to icing and goopy moisturizers. On average, you’ll be getting up to 35 percent more volume out of your fancy skin care purchases with this practical acquisition.
What this means in practice? The last dregs of Dieux’s Instant Angel Lipid-Rich Firming Moisturizer or Air Angel Peptide Plumping Gel Cream that you’ll now have access to will, over time, more than pay for the price of the under-$40 Dieux x Gill Mechanical Co. Heavy-Duty Tube-Wringer itself.

Dieux was very intentional about partnering with a U.S. brand ahead of the country’s semiquincentennial, so as to “bring more visibility to a small American manufacturer,” per a press release — honoring true, time-tested craftsmanship; shedding light on everyday solutions that can (and will) last a lifetime; and cutting through the noise of the hundreds of Tube-Wringer dupes that have been cropping up recently.
“Yes, you can find cheaper versions on Amazon that break faster, but it’s kind of like our reusable Forever Eye Mask. I prefer for you, your wallet, and the planet to always buy well, once,” Palermino advises, alluding to the frequently returned toothpaste squeezers that tend to clock in at the $10 mark.

So as to celebrate this unique, co-branded rollout (forgive the pun), Dieux and Gill Mechanical Co.’s Heavy-Duty Tube-Wringer has been dolled up with limited-edition engraving from the former (“you’re dieux-ing great,” the bottom of the step latter-evoking contraption reads in all caps). Each and every gizmo bought at dieuxskin.com is still hand-pressed in Oregon, just as it has been from the very beginning.
Turns out, Dieux is no stranger to giving you bang for your buck when it comes to maximizing the mileage you put on your most beloved beauty buys. Its $2 Squeeze Key is part of the same family of accessories as this fresh launch, with the only difference being its more travel-friendly, streamlined silhouette. Should you wish to experience both (or gift one to a friend), simply snag any moisturizer in Dieux’s lineup, which comes with its very own key.

“Great ideas deserve recognition — not replication,” Dieux proclaims. In other words, why mess with perfection? Just set this quintessential Heavy-Duty Tube-Wringer on your bathroom counter and watch as your beauty routine becomes more thoughtful, letting nothing go to waste.
