At last night’s 2025 Golden Globes, actress Emma Stone shocked fans and photographers with a new, short pixie haircut she debuted on the red carpet.
The most dramatic beauty moment of the night, Stone tapped into a long lineage of iconic Hollywood short hair styles that have become timeless reference photos to take to one’s salon. Her pixie cut predecessors include, most recently, Zoe Kravitz, Charlize Theron, and Jodie Turner-Smith, while, through the years, actresses Halle Berry and Winona Ryder have established the power of lopping off one’s long locks in favor of the face-framing style.

Stone’s pixie cut feels most referential to Mia Farrow’s legendary crop as seen in the 1968 film “Rosemary’s Baby.” Like Farrow’s, Stone’s cut is no longer than an inch on the sides, with slightly longer sections at the top allowing for a barely perceptible part. The style is all about highlighting the wearer’s facial features, without the distraction of overt volume or layers.

As anyone with short hair will know, a meticulous cut and impeccable styling is key to pulling off the style with aplomb. Celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak, who also works with celebs like Zoe Saldaña and Juno Temple, rose to the challenge in unveiling Stone’s style to the world at last night’s awards show.
While the genesis of Stone’s dramatic chop is speculated to be for a forthcoming Yorgos Lanthimos film, “Bugonia,” Roszak trimmed and shaped her hair for the Golden Globes public reveal. The celebrity hair guru enlisted a new product, Rōz Evergreen Style Cream, from her own hair care line to keep every strand in place without sacrificing touchability.
Rōz Evergreen Style Cream has a light-medium hold, allowing hair to follow direction without becoming stiff or flaky. And it’s not just for short hair: Roszak used the same cream to achieve Saldaña’s slicked-back look at the 2025 Golden Globes, too, and not a hair was out of place as the actress picked up her award for Best Supporting Actress, proving the product is a must-have for all manner of hair styles, from short to long hair.
Crafted with total versatility in mind, Rōz Evergreen Style Cream uses shea butter, pea protein, and carnauba wax to achieve any hair style. It can be used to de-frizz ends, define curls, or tame flyaways. Designed to be used from root to ends, it can also help sculpt and hold updos like Saldaña’s.
On both Stone and Saldana, Roszak also used the new L’Oréal Professionnel AirLight Pro hair dryer, which utilizes infrared light, to achieve their awards show looks. The tool promises faster drying time than leading premium hair dryers, and less damage.
According to a press release from L’Oréal, the top hair styling tool was used on Stone to “set the direction for the hair to lay using flat clips for extra directional hold.”
Both Stone and Saldaña’s hair styles were reminders of the inherent glamour in pulling one’s hair off of the face to better highlight jaw-dropping earrings. Create your own take on the style by using Rōz Evergreen Style Cream on your next slicked-back bun, or for styling your very own dramatic short haircut.
Priced at $32, Roz Evergreen Style Cream is destined to be a new cult-favorite beauty product in 2025. Order the cream now before it sells out as quickly as word spreads.
