Joining Kendrick Lamar for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show on Feb. 9, Sza stepped on stage wearing an all red outfit and crimson hair to match. Hairstylist Devante Turnbull, who regularly works with the five-time Grammy Award winner as well as stars like Kelly Rowland, prepped her curly tresses with K18 hair products — and we have all the details.
“We’ve been using K18 in all of our looks for the last year,” explains Turnbull, who has overseen Sza’s hair transformation from inky black to cotton candy pink to chocolate. “For the Super Bowl we went for a deep red voluminous textured look with length. Staying true to her big hair look while spicing it up with some color.”

Because K18 hair products focus on restoring damage from chemical treatments, color, and everyday heat damage, the brand’s lineup is a great choice for those who mix up their hair styles frequently. The K18 Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask is the brand’s bestseller; it employs a patented peptide that works to rebuild essential bonds in the hair.

“Sza often changes her looks, and I’ve been maintaining her hair health through all the changes with the K18Repair Service. I have the confidence that I can push the look further because I know damage isn’t a concern,” says Turnbull. “The two-step service starts with the professional K18 Molecular Repair Mist — this fortifies the hair, followed by the Molecular Repair Leave-in Hair Mask to repair damage for restored hair health, smoothness, and shine.”
Turnbull regularly works with K18 hair products, particularly when dealing with color-treated hair. In January, the hairstylist used K18 products when styling an ombre red hair look for Sza’s appearance at a screening of the forthcoming film “One of Them Days.”

After a few uses of the K18 mask, hair is stronger, healthier, bouncier, and more resilient — results that have helped the brand get in the hands (and hair) of celebs like Rihanna, Hailey Bieber, and Sofia Richie Grainge. K18’s shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, and professional treatments are designed to magnify those benefits, rather than create dull-inducing buildup, when used together.
