From the return of Chloé’s iconic Paddington Bag (deemed by our editors as one of the “It” handbags of fall 2025) to the full-blown boho revival witnessed on runways across every fashion capital, it’s clear that our love affair with nostalgia shows no signs of slowing down — and this season’s biggest jewelry trend is further evidence of the fact. If you’ve spent even five minutes on Instagram lately, you’ve likely seen pendant necklaces popping up on the grids of every style-savvy person you follow. No matter if you’re team “chunky stone pendants on ‘90s-style cords,” are more into tasseled gold charms, or want to bring oversized, sculptural pieces into the mix for an element of edge, one thing’s for certain: The pendant necklace is back… and it’s chicer than ever.

The accessory style made its triumphant comeback during the spring 2025 season, setting the tone for our collective jewelry preferences. At Chloé, the look was slightly fisherman-coded, with long strands adorned by sea-themed accents. AMI embraced something sleeker, pairing ring pendants with simple black cords, while Toteme opted for understated elegance, showcasing pendants suspended from classic gold chains. The drama dialed up at Valentino, where supersized heart pendants made a bold, romantic statement. And at Louis Vuitton, long pendant necklaces came embellished with functioning watches and mini clochette key holders — allowing the trend to take on a playful, almost-magical dimension.

As part of high-end labels’ fall collections this year, the pendant necklace proved to be a fitting accessory choice for the cooler months, too — leaving even more room for experimentation. Instead of using stones or gems, Tod’s said a firm “yes” to corded necklaces with charms that resembled human hands, making its collection’s outerwear and thick layers suddenly more whimsical. Even more recently, for spring 2026, Ralph Lauren co-signed the powerful pendant necklace by going with shiny, metallic shells that hung off black cords. Michael Kors‘ pendants, on the other hand, were abstract interpretations of the classics (we spotted them in the form of cardholders and oblong, bean-like stones held up by leather loops).

On the streets as well, the pendant necklace has quickly emerged as every style insider’s most prized outfit add-on. With NYFW having just ended, we can finally take stock of all the pendant necklace–based styling inspiration its attendees doled out, and our editors’ favorite looks incorporated light-catching amber; translucent stones with ornate, vintage-inspired rims; and hearts made more personal by the inclusion of initials.
