That being said, the feminine, structured beaut has also undergone a number of metamorphoses — debuting in slightly slouchier, chain-equipped form last year, taking over feeds and FYPs in its miniaturized Times Square Tabby iteration circa 2024, and being rolled out in no shortage of colorways-slash-finishes as part of Coach‘s Tabby Shop.
explore popular coach tabby bags
The Tabby’s most daring reinvention to date? Coach’s newest American Craft collection, released this month to the tune of instant online virality and almost-immediate “out of stock” notifications. Celebrating the United States’ 250th birthday, Coach has tapped a handful of American artists to update the Tabby with traditional techniques, spanning hand-quilted patchwork, floral inlays, embroidery, hand-tooled silver hardware, and beyond.
The professionals featured include Andy Andrews from the Utah-based A Cut Above Buckles, Bo Hubbard, Luke Haynes, and Nevena Christi of Rocketbuster Handmade Custom Boots. It’s safe to say the pieces are anything but cheap: briefly breaking up with Coach’s penchant for affordable-luxury price points by clocking in at $2,595 to $4,995.
As mentioned previously, the bags’ sheer popularity paved the way to two styles (Nevena Christi’s butterfly– and flower–blessed ones, to be exact) already selling out, but three of the fresh arrivals still remain — promising to add ornate, artful flair to your summertime ensembles if only you act quick.
Coach Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With American Craft Quilting
$4,995
Currently one of Coach’s priciest shoulder bags on offer (after the gator skin–clad Rogue Bag line, that is), the Tabby 26 With American Craft Quilting was created in collaboration with textile artist Luke Haynes.
Price upon publish date of this article: $4,995
Our favorite is the Coach Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With American Craft Quilting, whose glovetanned leather is for the first time ever swathed in an intricate patchwork of salvaged vintage textiles, boasting pleasing-on-the-eyes colorways like butter yellow and moss green as well as subtle patterning that doesn’t draw attention away from what made the Tabby an icon in the first place.
Almost everything you know and appreciate about the catchall remains intact, including two detachable straps for optional crossbody wear, signature hardware, a soft leather lining, and internal multifunction pockets. As demonstrated by the model below, we recommend wearing it with a Canadian tuxedo moment, so as to let the plushness of that quilt contrast with the rigidity of your denim.

Coach Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With American Craft Tuft
$2,995
More budget-friendly than its quilted counterpart, this particular Tabby comes from the hands of Brooklyn-based artist Bo Hubbard.

Next up is the Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With American Craft Tuft, which swaps textiles for color-happy yarn that just might match your beloved bedroom rug. An ideal complement to monochrome wardrobes of linens and silks — which deserve a little boost in the texture (and personality!) department — the purse flaunts floral and heart motifs, not to mention a handy outside pocket, snap closure, and a just-right size for hauling daily go-tos like your AirPods, phone, keys, wallet, and portable fan.
there are only 6 left in the whole company! what do we think about this collab? #coach#coachretail#coachbag#style#collab
Hubbard, the expert behind this release, has long worked with the medium of multi-colored yarn, successfully extending his maximalist approach — all bold hues and biomorphic shapes — to the realm of Coach’s buzziest accessory.
Coach Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With American Craft Buckle
$2,595
The American Craft assortment’s least expensive pick, this Tabby makes only minor changes to its Chalk-colored prototype — thereby also being the most quiet-luxury of the bunch.
Price upon publish date of this article: $2,595
Rounding out the collection is theCoach Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With American Craft Buckle. Soft-spoken as compared to the vivid bags it’s joined by, this Tabby was crafted by belt buckle brand A Cut Above Buckles, which services rodeo associations across Texas and Utah. Lending its magic touch to the pristinely proportioned item, A Cut Above Buckles treats the Tabby to a hand-tooled silver and brass buckle, strap tip, Coach “C” logo, and corner plates — engraving the metal with flourishes you might find on a cowboy boot’s shaft.
Expressive and conversation-generating, this special slew of Tabby bags is meant to be worn, loved, and taken excellent care of. See what all the hype’s about by splurging on your very own Americana-meets-artisan creation.
