Bag charm enthusiasts, assemble. Hydro Flask — a water bottle brand founded in 2009, which peaked during the colloquial “VSCO girl era” years back but continues to hold the public’s attention with on-trend colorways and sustainability efforts — just released its tiniest bottle yet, which can be clipped to your bag for many on-the-go hydration moments.
Unlike, say, a Stanley tumbler‘s high-volume allure and weighty presence, the Hydro Flask Micro Hydro‘s power lies in its barely there proportions. Clocking in at just 6.7 ounces of volume, the bottle is a nod to minimalism and the “underconsumption core” trend taking over TikTok these days. That’s not to say that the Micro Hydro’s fun-sized nature makes it shun Hydro Flask’s signature features. After all, it can keep beverages of choice hot or cold for up to seven hours; features double-wall vacuum insulation; and is constructed out of durable, leakproof stainless steel.

What’s more, the new water bottle appears to be the very definition of a color-happy object: coming in four distinct hues that will match any aesthetic (and bag!). Whether you go with the invigorating Aloe for spring, a classically chic black shade, the pretty-in-pink Reef, or the mellow and pastel-like Surf, both happiness and hydration are on your horizon.

Though you certainly don’t have to use the new Micro Hydro as a practical accessory for your bag (instead choosing to pack it into your work lunchbox, perhaps, or else plop it inside your carryall), we recommend skipping discreetness and flaunting the bottle for everyone to see. Bag charms, in general, are hot right now: The Lyst Index Q4 2024 report stated that searches for bag charms on Lyst spiked 77 percent that quarter, which we’re taking as a sign that shoppers are tapping into quirkiness and Gen Z playfulness. And what could be more playful than clipping a mini bottle onto your everyday handbag, with the help of a simple carabiner?
Don’t just take our word for it, though. Very recently, the Micro Hydro soft-launched at Sandy Liang’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway show during NYFW. Backstage, models were seen sipping from the tiny item while getting glam. The bottle was also spotted bedecking the bag of one show attendee, who paired its light blue color iteration with a white Sandy Liang leather bag.

Does all this talk make you thirsty for a Micro Hydro of your own? If so, we recommend you shop fast. Hydro Flask mentioned that it will be available in limited quantities — exclusively on its site, for customers in the US or Japan only. Priced at $19.95, the bottle-slash-bag-adornment will become your best purchase of 2025 so far… and your bag will be oh-so-grateful.
