The Winter Olympic Games — which drew in an average of 24.3 million viewers from the U.S., much more than Beijing 2022, according to the International Olympic Committee — is wrapping up Sunday, February 22, with a closing ceremony that starts at 2:30 p.m. EST. While the Winter Olympics’ opening ceremony simultaneously took place at four different venues across Italy, its last proceeding is going to be held exclusively at the Verona Arena. The theme of the evening? “Beauty in Action,” which promises to showcase a “fusion of opera, music, dance, cinema, design, and technology,” while honoring athletic excellence and Italian identity.

The Olympic opener featured global talent from Mariah Carey to Andrea Bocelli, but its Sunday counterpart will focus on performances from Italian luminaries like Grammy-nominated DJ Gabry Ponte, singer Achille Lauro, and ballet dancer Roberto Bolle. The setting, an ancient Roman amphitheater that’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, is quite fitting for what will soon take place in it — considering the Verona Arena’s significance in Italian history and the fact that it epitomizes generations of the host country’s artistry.

How to Watch the 2026 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony Online Without Cable

Want to cheer on your favorite Team USA stars as they head home after electrifying, impressive showings, resulting in the highest number of gold medals won in American Winter Olympic history? You can do so from the comforts of home — while catching sight of ice hockey and ice dancing champions Hilary Knight and Evan Bates as the flag-bearers of the United States — thanks to a variety of editor-recommended live TV platforms that grant on-demand access to NBC, the official home of the Winter Olympics.

The approximately two-and-a-half-hour ceremony can be streamed with DirecTV, Peacock, and Hulu + Live TV. Below, we highlight the benefits of each service and how to take advantage of their free trials today.

EDITOR’s CHOICE

DirecTV

watch closing ceremony on directv

NBC is available across DirecTV’s top-rated packages, including Entertainment, Choice, Ultimate, and Premier. All subscriptions come with a five-day free trial for watching the 2026 Winter Olympic Games closing ceremony online without spending a cent, after which channel bundles start at $49.99 for your first month (courtesy of DirecTV’s $40-off deal for a limited time).

Peacock

watch closing ceremony on Peacock

Peacock was the main streaming destination for the entirety of the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics, so it’s an apt choice for witnessing the final moments live. Note that Peacock doesn’t offer free trials to its customers, and plans clock in at $10.99 to $16.99 monthly.

Our editors still managed to find a workaround for watching the closing ceremony free of charge. A Walmart+ membership gets you complimentary Peacock access (and comes with a month-long free trial attached).

Hulu + Live TV

watch closing ceremony on hulu + live tv

Hulu + Live TV is a leader in streaming that’s equipped with NBC (not to mention over 95 other popular channel options and Disney+ for good measure). Its trial is three days long, but that’s more than enough time to sit back and enjoy the Olympics closing ceremony, waving goodbye to your most-loved and most-watched competitors — be it Ilia Malinin or Alysa Liu. After the trial ends, committing to the service will cost $89.99 a month.

Best Fashion Moments at the 2026 Winter Olympics

The Winter Olympics this year had a strong start, sartorially speaking and otherwise. Opening ceremony headliner Mariah Carey stunned in a glittering Roberto Cavalli gown; a group of models wearing Giorgio Armani suits formed the tri-colored Italian flag; other performers generated buzz by dressing themselves head to toe as vivid Bialetti Moka espresso makers, a beloved Italian invention; and Team USA joined the Parade of Nations in custom-designed looks by Ralph Lauren.

Throughout the weeks, fashion rode shotgun with world-class athleticism. This was evident in everything from the Oscar de la Renta costumes seen on ice skater Deanna Stellato-Dudek to the official, sumptuous garb of Team Mongolia (sourced from Goyol Cashmere and something that led to the widespread sentiment that Mongolia was the best-dressed country). So too were Liu’s grunge-inspired ensembles — all leopard tights and halo hair and a frenulum piercing for good measure — a sight to behold, completed by Snoop Dogg‘s myriad of headline-generating ‘fits, shown off during his time as Team USA’s first honorary coach in history. The man, sometimes matching with BFF Martha Stewart, turned to fur hats; houndstooth coats; and red-white-and-blue puffers pasted with the faces of American athletes competing at any given time — all while protecting his feet by way of brands like Columbia and Salomon.

Those questioning just how pivotal branded fashion placements are during the Olympics need only to remember what happened to boxer Jake Paul’s fiancée Jutta Leerdam, a Dutch speed skater who got gold in the women’s 1000m by finishing in record-breaking time. She unzipped her racing suit after securing the medal, only to reveal a white Nike sports bra — the Indy High Support Women’s Padded Front-Zip Sports Bra, to be exact, which fans rushed to grab in Leerdam’s exact color at Kohl’s. Experts said this move, strategic or not, could’ve earned her a $1 million payout from Nike; others, however, accused the 27-year-old of “ambush marketing.” Though there were speculations of it, she will not be punished by the International Olympic Committee.

As for how you can take some of the magic of the Winter Olympics home, to enjoy long after the closing festivities? Ralph Lauren will be outfitting Team USA one last time this month, and some of the attire you’ll witness on-screen — like the Team USA Closing Ceremony Down Jacket and Team USA Closing Ceremony Utility Pant — is still found in most sizes online.
