We all crave good sleep, but only a select few can go whole, eight-hour nights without needing to pop a melatonin gummy or rob themselves of sight by way of a sleep mask. And though there’s no shortage of sleep products on the market that aid in what TikTok has dubbed “sleepmaxxing,” we’ll let you in on a little secret — sometimes, all it takes to reset your sleep routine is upgrading the sheets under your body.

Each time a new season comes along, the fashion-forward among us start planning out complete wardrobe overhauls and pinpointing the new designer collections their closets are missing. Beds deserve the same type of regular refresh: in the form of bedding that not only looks chic but also works with your sleep goals in mind.

Buffy Breeze Sheet Set

$159.20 $199 20% off

Buy Now at buffy

Buffy has received countless accolades for its famous Cloud Comforter, Breeze Comforter, Cloud Pillow, and Body Pillow, but the Breeze Sheet Set is likely the brand’s most well-known buy. The set is woven out of 100-percent Tencel lyocell, itself made from responsibly farmed eucalyptus: a material proven to be better at cooling than cotton. Free of harmful chemicals and colored with plant-based dyes, the Buffy top seller is also hypoallergenic and moisture-wicking — quite an impressive resume.

Regardless of your interior design aesthetic, Buffy has a Breeze Sheet Set style for you (whether you’re leaning towards a stripe or, like us, wish to keep things lowkey with a simple-yet-striking White). In case something goes south, the company has a 50-night, risk-free return policy to help you sleep tighter.

Editor testing and review notes: “In White, the Buffy top sheet mirrors the fabric of an expensive wedding dress: That’s how high-quality this whole set is. The pillowcases have glorious envelope closure and not-too-wide, delineated edging for added crispness. My most-loved component? Hands down the fitted sheet — so smooth you want to instantly splay out on it. Other special details that go the extra mile include ‘head’ and ‘foot’ labels, as well as mattress-wrapping straps for a more snug fit. I left a small stain on the sheet while eating popcorn in bed (I’m just a girl!), but the material was easy to wipe clean, and the spot dried in a completely incognito way. The silky-soft pillowcases were gentle on my skin, and my complexion looked better upon waking.” — WWD Shop Senior Commerce Writer Stacia Datskovska

Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set

$215.60 $308 30% off

Buy Now at cozy earth

Cozy Earth is trusted by Oprah and Kris Jenner alike, so it’s definitely a high-end bedding brand that demands to be shopped. Though one of Cozy Earth’s trendiest rollouts has been the editor-tested Cuddle Blanket, all eyes are currently on its roster of bamboo bedding, which prioritizes breathability, durability (it’s pilling-proof for 10 years), and the kind of softness that just might prompt you to hit the snooze button one too many times. For that, you’d be forgiven.

Other commendable attributes of the above set include an oversized fit that’s optimal for deep-pocket mattresses and a subtle sheen that can add even more refinement to your bedroom. When scanning the review section for Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheet Set, a few unifying sentiments crop up. Mainly, “the best sheets I’ve ever had,” “it doesn’t get better than this for a good night’s sleep,” and “world’s softest sheets.” Use this information wisely.

Editor testing and review notes: “As soon as I put these sheets on my bed, it was easy to see why they’re so hyped up: The bedding set is just that good! I was seriously not prepared for its level of soft silkiness that led to a hotel stay–evoking sleep. The fabric here is lightweight and breezy, which will delight all hot sleepers like yours truly. The sheets are also not as susceptible to wrinkling or pilling as other bedding I’ve owned in the past — the ultimate cherry on top.” — Former WWD Senior Commerce Editor Lauren Fisher

Ettitude Signature Bamboo Sheet Set

$269.25 $359 25% off

Buy Now at ettitude

It’s really no wonder Ettitude’s ultra-soft bedding, crafted out of patented CleanBamboo fibers, has been shouted out by celebrities from Hilary Duff to Mandy Moore. As the brand explains, “CleanBamboo is a lyocell made from organic bamboo that uses a food-grade organic solvent in the [manufacturing] process, unlike all other bamboo fabrics made with toxic viscose/rayon technology or cotton grown with pesticides.”

Not only are you guaranteed a toxin-free sleep with Ettitude, but falling asleep faster and staying asleep longer will also form a new reality for you when you make the switch. You’ll be shocked that this Signature Bamboo Sheet Set isn’t composed of 100-percent silk, since it has just as glossy of a texture on a visual and tactile level. Still on the fence? Maybe the fact that this bundle is dermatologist-approved will finally convince you to click “add to cart.”

Editor testing and review notes: “I’m not exaggerating when I say this sateen set is to DIE for. The softness? Incredible. The stitching? Sumptuous. The only thing missing for me is envelope closure on the pillowcases, but, considering how outstanding the bedsheets are overall, it’s a minor point I’m willing to overlook. My legs could move on top of the fitted sheet without that dreaded sandpaper sensation, and, aesthetics-wise, the Cloud hue was a match made in heaven for a darker duvet cover from Ettitude. (My suggestion? Almond Brown all the way.)” — Datskovska

Brooklinen Classic Percale Core Sheet Set

$164.25 $219 25% off

Buy Now at brooklinen

This award winner from Brooklinen put the now-TikTok-viral bedding destination on the map and is widely praised for its matte appearance, all-night thermoregulation, and expansive assortment of colorways-slash-patterns. What’s more, pillowcase envelope closures feature front and center here — harder to find in bedding sets than you think. The Brooklinen Classic Percale Core Sheet Set’s top styles keep selling out across Queen and King sizes, so take this as your sign to shop today, securing deeper sleep on airier sheets.

And if you can’t decide if percale is right for you, know that it “gives the absorbency and comfort of cotton,” as Arya tells WWD, because it’s a type of cotton fabric. Resistance to snags and tears is an additional perk of percale, courtesy of its tight weave.

Editor testing and review notes: ”What first struck me about this sheet set was its smell: sweet and woodsy right out of the box, which spares you from having to wash the sheets before use in hopes of eliminating an almost chemical aroma. Like other fitted sheets from Brooklinen, the one in this bundle had ‘long’ and ‘short’ markings that made easing it over my mattress a piece of cake. The pillowcases felt way smoother on my cheek than their Washed European Linen counterparts that I previously tested, and all the sheets stayed consistently cool during the many midday naps I took on them. The design’s stripes somehow made my bed look bigger, too, and who can complain about that?” — Datskovska

Parachute Brushed Cotton Venice Set

$347.65 $409 15% off

Buy Now at parachute

Established in 2014, Parachute is an internet darling that’s on a mission to introduce laid-back elegance into every abode. Last year, it expanded beyond neutrals-dominated color palettes by releasing five summery, never-before-seen shades for its bestselling linen sheets line. This particular set, though, is made of 100-percent cotton and prides itself on superior airflow, a gentle underhand feel, and an intentionally lived-in look that’s achieved via Parachute’s special brushing technique. Reviewers remark that the sheets don’t visibly shed like other dark bedding, even after many washes.

Thousands of five-star ratings all signal one thing: If there’s a sheet set that’s worth your time, it’s the Parachute Brushed Cotton Venice.

Editor testing and review notes: ”I’ve never owned dark bedding before, but it’s safe to say I’m a convert after trialing these bedsheets from Parachute. A plethora of quiet-luxury colors to pick from is one of the set’s biggest draws, so I caught myself dreaming about going back to the beauty of my bed multiple times a day (PSA: Get the set in Dusk). On the fabric front, you’ll come face to face with cotton that’s been brushed and washed, making the sheets oh-so-buttery. The fitted sheet specifically hugged my mattress well and looked creaseless. Making my bed in the morning was satisfying at last.” — Datskovska

best sateen weave

Saatva Organic Sateen Duvet Cover Set

$275

Buy Now at saatva

Saatva’s speciality lies in sustainable mattresses, and it’s considered to be the pioneer of this industry’s direct-to-consumer business model. The brand’s bedding merits your full attention, too, as it’s manufactured from premium fabrics like the pictured set’s 100-percent certified organic cotton. Boasting a thread count of 300, the sheets feel delightful on skin thanks to their sateen weave that stands up to hundreds of washes and years of consistent use.

Per Saatva, the Organic Sateen Duvet Cover Set’s thread count not being massive is helpful in relation to temperature control. “If you tend to sleep hot, a higher thread count may not be a great choice as it tends to trap body heat,” Saatva states on its site.

Editor testing and review notes: “It’s no secret that sateen is my favorite weave to spend the night with, but Saatva’s Organic Sateen Duvet Cover Set had less sheen and more firmness to it than other sateen sets I’ve tested, both for this roundup and in the past. This didn’t bother me one bit; in fact, I appreciated the purchase’s durability and didn’t feel like its pillowcases were abrasive throughout my twisting and turning. The fitted sheet kept me warm but not too warm during summer nights — cheers to a Goldilocks balance — and never came undone or looked creased come morning. Saatva’s bedding is sold with a handy carrying case for good measure (catch me repurposing it as a chic tote bag all year long).” — Datskovska

Matouk Del Tesoro Fitted Sheet

$375

Buy Now at matouk

Matouk is a luxury linen label through and through, founded in 1929 by John Matouk and now in its third generation of family ownership. You’ll discover decadent textiles across categories like bath, sleepwear, and kitchen here, but perhaps the best way to get your hands on all that sophistication is to invest in Matouk’s bedding. (And investing is the right word, because its top-of-the-line selections are certainly on the higher end of the price spectrum.)

This Del Tesoro Fitted Sheet’s Egyptian cotton composition, thread count of 500, and made-in-the-USA status will make every dollar count. We’re also head over heels for that whimsical, deep-sea toile print by Schumacher, Matouk’s design partner on the piece. Sleeping amidst vibrant coral and true-to-life shells? Nothing could be more magical.

Editor testing and review notes: “This bedding will make you feel utterly fancy. Sure, $375 for a single fitted sheet could be seen as exorbitant, but what you’re paying for is looks, quality, and, not least among these, status. Tell a house guest that they’re sleeping on Matouk, and they’ll crown you Hostess of the Year in no time; gift Matouk sheets to your in-laws, and they’ll finally embrace you as their own. Those sea-life illustrations blow Matouk’s competition out of the water (get it?) based on how detail-rich they are, and the set’s fabric is able to preserve its shape while still granting a soft finish that’s conducive to snuggles. Speaking of which, the product’s fit is relatively snug on a Queen mattress, so size accordingly!” — Datskovska

What to Consider When Shopping for the Best Luxury Bedding

Luxury bedding distinguishes itself from affordable alternatives in several ways. “The material quality, thread count, feel, comfort, durability, attention to detail, breathability, temperature regulation, brand reputation, and certification all set luxury bedding apart from everything else on the market,” Switzer says.

While shopping for luxury bedding, you’ll want to stay cognizant of the following factors.

Materials: Bedding made from high-quality materials, such as Egyptian and Pima cottons, is always a safe bet. These days, though, cotton’s supremacy is losing its foothold to bamboo, hemp, flax, and even, as Buffy’s Breeze Sheet Set will have you know, eucalyptus. At the end of the day, you should choose bedding that feels good to rest on and also scores high in durability and longevity.

Thread count: Thread count refers to the number of horizontal and vertical threads found in every square inch of a given fabric. While a higher thread count does signal a denser weave, potentially smoother texture, and the ability to “last more laundry cycles without getting easily worn out,” per Arya, it’s not the only element responsible for a sheet set’s quality and doesn’t always equate to higher quality at that. “Sometimes, manufacturers use multi-ply threads (where multiple thinner threads are twisted together) to inflate the thread count without necessarily improving quality,” Switzer says.

Certifications: Switzer advises looking for sheet sets that hold certifications such as Oeko-Tex Standard 100 or those indicating the use of organic, sustainably sourced materials. “These can demonstrate a commitment ethical manufacturing practices, which is very important,” she tells WWD.

Price: Luxury bedding comes with steeper price tags, so think about what you’re willing to spend while being prepared to invest in a quality product meant to last a lifetime. As with anything online, do stay cautious of markups that may not necessarily translate to superior quality. We made sure to vet the legitimacy of everything on this list (and were considerate of varying budgets).

Quality assurance: Most leading bedding brands back their goods with warranties, which is good news for customers. The logic goes as follows — if a company has a warranty, it puts trust in its quality, and you, by proxy, can feel confident when making a purchase. Warranties typically range from a few months to a handful of years; within this timeframe, brands are known to grant full refunds if the bedding is defective or repair any damages incurred.

The Best Luxury Bedding Materials to Shop

“You’ll want to consider your climate environment, overall home aesthetic, and sleeping habits when selecting materials for luxury bedding,” explains Switzer. “In warmer regions, breathable and lightweight materials, like linen or bamboo rayon, are great choices as they help maintain a cooler sleep environment. Warmer and insulating materials such as flannel or thicker cotton might be more suitable for colder climates to provide extra warmth and comfort.”

Linen: “Flax, the fiber used to make linen, has long been valued for its breathability and natural texture. It’s having a moment, and I am a huge fan!” Baker admits. “Like hemp, it’s excellent from a sustainability standpoint — growing readily with minimal water and pesticide use.” Some individuals enjoy the rougher underhand feel of linen, while others may prefer the smoothness of materials like cotton or silk. “For anyone new to linen bedding, I recommend starting with a softened linen rather than a traditional one — it’s a gentler introduction. When in doubt, buying only a set of pillowcases is a wise way to test out the sensation,” Baker continues. Looks are also important to keep in mind. “Fibers like hemp and flax have their own drape and luster that are arguably superior to cotton. Therefore, these two fibers are sometimes favored over cotton sheets because of their beauty,” Arya shares.

Silk: Silk bedding’s TL;DR is that it’s incredibly smooth, soft, and sumptuous. The material is also naturally resistant to dust mites, mold, and mildew, making silk a trusty option for people with allergies. Its sleek surface ensures hair and skin isn’t exposed to friction, which in turn minimizes breakage and can even reduce the appearance of fine lines. Want the kind of gentle introduction to silk Baker talks about in terms of linen? Shop our editor-vetted list of the best silk pillowcases.

Cotton: The properties of cotton, a sweetheart of the bedding industry, differ based on origin. Egyptian and Pima cottons (with the latter being cultivated in places like Peru and Australia) are common suspects that share certain characteristics, such as long-staple fibers which contribute to their softness and durability. Supima, a 100-percent American-grown Pima cotton, is another customer favorite that’s twice as strong as regular cotton. By definition, cotton is extremely breathable and draws moisture away from the body, so it’s a solid investment for those who run hot and experience night sweats.

Bamboo: Bamboo-derived bedding is inherently eco-friendly, with a texture that mimics silk sheets. It’s also thermoregulating — providing warmth in cooler weather and cooling the body down during balmy summer nights. Many top-rated bamboo sheet sets flaunt extra perks like enhanced durability (Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheet Set, as an example, can stand up to pilling for a whole decade).

Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus is trending in the bedding space because of its lightness, mighty temperature regulation, and sustainability. Given the material’s moisture-wicking capabilities that mirror those of cotton, it’s also a go-to for the summertime. Sheets made out of eucalyptus usually take advantage of a plant-based Tencel lyocell blend which, like hemp and flax, cuts back on water usage during production (a win for both your REM cycle and the planet). While bamboo bedding is soft right out of the box, eucalyptus sheets are initially coarse but become more forgiving over time and with repeated washing.

How We Chose the Best Luxury Bedding of 2026

Since 1910, WWD — often referred to as “the fashion bible” — has been the leading industry voice of authority for senior executives in the global women’s and men’s fashion, retail and beauty communities, while also informing the consumer media that cover the market. Our team assessed materials, fit, style, breathability, softness, and other variables across more than 20 top-of-the-line sheet sets, ultimately honing in on a select few that checked all of our boxes. We also cross-referenced customer reviews from various retailers and gleaned invaluable expert insights. Learn more about us here.
